Since its foundation, Santa Fé has served thousands of children and adolescents by providing an appropriate environment and support to develop their full potential.
About Us
Associação Beneficente Santa Fé (Santa Fé Welfare Association) began its work linked with governmental and nongovernmental institutions, on December 1st of 1993 with the action called Árvore de Natal (Christmas Tree). In the 23 days that followed, children and adolescents living at Praça da Sé (São Paulo central square) were invited to participate in various recreational activities. On average, there were 230 participants per day.
The most striking in this action was the significant response of the participants, observed on the quality of their work, the shows produced, and by the demonstration of a strong desire to build a new perspective on life. Most of these children and adolescents had been through other social institutions without making any commitment to any of them.
Given these results and the firm purpose to keep the bonds established with the participants of this action, a team of technicians and educators got in touch with 115 of these children and adolescents, offering them a new perspective on life through the Escola Ambulante (Mobile School), the first project of Santa Fé, held on February of 1994.
Our Name and Inspiration
The inspiration for the institution's name comes from flowers that spring from the cactus in the desert of the city of Santa Fe (New Mexico - USA), even in the face of all odds. The work of Santa Fé is based on this relationship, believing in the full development of each child and adolescent welcomed, offering conditions to flourish to its full potential.
Mission
Include children and adolescents, who face risky personal or social situations, in the universal category of ordinary and total children and adolescents, providing them with a safe and adequate environment for their development, respecting their particularities and implementing models of care that guarantee defense and the promotion of their rights and those of their families.
Vision
Be a reference center in the care of children and adolescents, victims of abuse, domestic abuse and/or living on the streets, sharing experience with similar organizations and influencing public policies, in order to expand the social impact of its programs.
Our Team
